Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR) says most airlines have tentatively planned to resume flights on Sunday, as Tropical Storm Florence weakens across the region.

All commercial flights into and out of MYR Thursday and Friday had been canceled ahead of then-Hurricane Florence's arrival.

In a statement released Saturday evening, MYR said flight operations would resume about mid-morning Sunday.

MYR advised those traveling to verify their flight status with their airline and arrive earlier than normal.

The Associated Press reported Friday that Florence prompted the cancellation of more than 2,100 domestic flights.
