Nick Papantonis joined the ABC15 reporting team in June 2017.
Nick made his way south from Binghamton, NY, where he was a reporter for WBNG. During his time in the Southern Tier, he covered a range of stories, including a record-breaking winter storm in March 2017, an internationally followed hit-and-run investigation, and April the Giraffe.
His move to Myrtle Beach marks a welcomed return to living near the ocean. Nick grew up just outside of Boston, but considers Wellfleet, MA his home town. While in high school and college, he spent his summers helping to run a country club there, doing everything from washing golf carts to overseeing the club’s social media profiles.
Nick’s love for reporting started at Syracuse University, where he studied broadcast journalism. When he wasn’t in class, he served as a reporter and anchor for the student-run news station CitrusTV. His favorite part of the job is introducing you to people and places you wouldn’t have otherwise heard about.
When he’s not at work, Nick can be found on the beach or playing tennis. He’s a proud New England Patriots fan and isn’t shy about cheering for his alma mater either. He also loves to travel and has spent extended time in Botswana and Turkey.
Don’t be shy about saying hello if you see him around town! If you have an idea for him to look into, you can reach out at Nick@wpde.com or on his Facebook and Twitter pages.
