Deevon Rahming joined the ABC 15 News Team, as a multimedia journalist in December 2017. Originally born in the Florida Keys, his career in television news began his junior year of high school, as a production assistant at WINK, the CBS affiliate in Fort Myers, FL.
After graduating from high school, Deevon spent a year abroad studying music at Hillsong International Leadership College, in Sydney, Australia. (Random fun fact, Deevon was one yes a way from Hollywood on Season 8 of American Idol!)
Upon his return back to southwest Florida, Deevon worked again as a production assistant, this time, at WFTX, the FOX affiliate in Cape Coral, FL.
A self proclaimed news junkie, Deevon always knew he wanted to be in front of the camera as a reporter, so he put his on camera skills to the test as an intern at WSB-TV in Atlanta, where he says he learned the skills of the trade from some of the best reporters and anchors in the country.
As a proud Florida State University alumnus, Deevon is delighted to begin his on-air career in Myrtle Beach. When he's not out in the field working for you, or sitting in front of his TV on a Saturday in the fall yelling, "GO NOLES!" Deevon enjoys exploring all that the Grand Strand has to offer, including new restaurants and the beach, and he loves to get outside with his two dogs Sidney and Titus.
It's telling your stories that Deevon loves most, so if you've got a story idea, he wants to hear about it. Email him at Deevon@wpde.com
