The annual End Zone banquet at the River Walk hotel was a success with more than 60 of the area's best players all under one roof and coaches past and present.
As we close the book on the 2018 high school football season, top talent infiltrated our area, which led to a pair of local teams earning state titles
But Wednesday was about honoring the individuals that stood out and the best of the best from every position and every class in our viewing area.
It was a repeat performance for this year's SCISA player of the year, Jake Lane, who is a two time winner of this award.
This year's coach of the year award went to West Florence's Jody Jenerette, who was not at the banquet.
In his first year at the helm, Jenerette helped take a program from 5-8 to an 11 and two run. They were undefeated in region play, which earned them 5A region champs and a trip to the lower state semi finals.
Athletic director Greg Johnson was on hand to accept the award.
The 2018 lifetime achievement award went to legendary head coach. Chuck Jordan, who was freshly minted into the South Carolina Coaches Football Hall of Fame.
Jordan coached for years at Conway High.
And the moment everyone was waiting for, the 2018 Zoneman award.
Three extraordinary candidates were finalists including Myrtle Beach's Luke Doty....West Florence's Ailym Ford.... and Mullins Xavier Legette.
This year's 2018 Zoneman is Ailym Ford.
