Texans' DeAndre Hopkins pledges playoff check to family of Jazmine Barnes
HOUSTON - Houston Texans' wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins said in a tweet that he is pledging his playoff check to the family of the 7-year-old girl who died in a drive by shooting.
Hopkins said in a tweet Thursday morning that he will be donating his playoff check to help the family with funeral costs and to support finding the suspect in the case.
7-year-old Jazmine Barnes was shot on December 30, 2018 when her family was leaving a Walmart in Houston and a truck pulled up next to her family's car. The man in the truck started shooting, killing Barnes and injuring her mother.
Hopkins said in the tweet, "On Saturday, I will be playing in your honor, Jazmine."
