The South Pointe Stallions beat the Hartsville Red Foxes 38-14 to win the Class AAAA State Championship at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia.

South Pointe got out to a 14-0 lead and never looked back.

Derion Kendrick scored on an 11-yard run to put South Pointe in front.

Kendrick later threw a 14 yard TD pass to Scott Robinson and the rout was on.

Hartsville did cut the lead in half with an A.J. Joyner TD run in the second quarter.

But South Pointe, ranked #4 nationally in the USA Today Poll, was too much.

The Stallions added another score on a Marice Whitlock one yard run just before halftime to lead 21-7.

Whitlock scored two times on the night.

Hartsville scored a late touchdown. J.D. Pendergrass scored on a two yard run.

South Pointe (15-0) has won four straight state championships.

Hartsville finished the season with a record of 13-2.
