Gamecocks beat Gators, improve record to 7-3

The South Carolina Gamecocks beat the Florida Gators 28-20 at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia.

South Carolina quarterback Jake Bentley overcame three interceptions to lead the Gamecocks with two rushing touchdowns, and 249 passing yards.

Mon Denson also ran for two scores for South Carolina.

The Gamecocks rushed for 220 yards, led by A.J. Turner with 22 carries for 136 yards.

Former Conway High star and ABC 15 Zoneman winner Bryan Edwards chipped in with three catches for 48 yards for South Carolina. He also ran the ball one time for two yards.

The Gamecocks got out to a 14-0 first quarter lead and never trailed.

South Carolina is now 7-3 overall, 5-3 in the SEC.

The Gamecocks will finish the regular season with games against Wofford and Clemson.
