Andrews wins state softball championship over Landrum

WPDE/Andrews defeated Landrum 3-1 in game two of the championship series to win State Title.

Both teams were strong on the rubber Thursday, but Yellow Jackets defeated Landrum 3-1. Carli McCants allowed just five hits to Landrum.

Yellow Jackets got things moving in the second inning with a home from Ashley Evans. The solo shot gave the road team a 1-0 lead.

From there it was all about McCants. She allowed five hits and one run over seven innings, striking out nine.

Caitlyn Cox took the loss for Landrum. She allowed five hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out six.

Yellow Jackets launched one home run on the day. Evans went deep in the second inning.

Logan Owens, McCants, Evans, Brooklynn Brewington, and Faith Callaway all had one hit to lead Yellow Jackets.

Sarah Price went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Landrum in hits.
