Lady Chanticleers gather for watch party for NCAA golf tournament and are Florida bound!

WPDE/The Lady Chanticleers will learn their NCAA Region destination Wednesday night.

After winning the Sun Belt conference for the first time in program history, the lady Chants gathered Wednesday to learn their NCAA Region destination.

Players and head coach Katie Quinney spent the evening at the Shucker's at Broadway at the Beach with the show selection show scheduled to begin at 5:30.

Coastal Carolina will be one of seventy-two teams competing in one of four regional championships. The four sites include San Francisco (Stanford); Austin, Texas (Texas); Madison, Wisconsin (Wisconsin); and Tallahassee, Florida (FSU).

And, live on camera, the Lady Chants found out that they will be playing in Tallahasee, Florida, as a #14 seed! Many of the players and fans said they had hoped for that location, but Coach Quinney said she was kind of disappointed in their ranking.

You can watch the team as they wait for this news (and get a behind the scenes look at our live hits for the newscast) in the player below.

24 teams and 12 individuals will advance to the national championships May 18-23 at Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
