CLEMSON, S.C. (WPDE) — A parade is scheduled this weekend in honor of Clemson's victory in the National Championship game.
The team dominated against competitor Alabama Monday night in Santa Clara, Ca., taking the title with a 28 point lead.
The victory parade is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 12 beginning at 9 a.m. at the intersection of College Avenue and Keith Street in Clemson.
The parade will proceed to Highway 93 and turn left onto Highway 93 in front of Bowman Field. The route will then take a right onto Calhoun Drive and finally take a right onto Fort Hill Street where it will end at the east side of Memorial Stadium.
According to the official Clemson University Athletics website, the parade will include the players, coaches, administrators, invited guests, Tiger Band, cheerleaders, Rally Cats, mascots and more.
In addition to the parade, there will be a celebration in Memorial Stadium starting at 10:30 a.m. Doors will open to the stadium at 7 a.m., allowing fans to watch highlights and replays from the Championship game will on the video board. When the parade begins, it will be shown live on the video board.
The stadium celebration will include hearing from coaches, players and special guests. It will conclude before noon so fans will be able to attend the Clemson vs. Virginia basketball game.
Both the parade and stadium celebration are free to attend and do not require tickets.
