Chants shock Clemson at home

Anthony Raffa had 25 points in front of a sold out HTC Center as Coastal Carolina routed Clemson 69-46. It's the Chanticleers second consecutive win over the ACC Tigers. Last year, Chris Gradnigo followed a tip at the buzzer to give the Chants a 60-59 win. This year, Coastal came into the game a big underdog with an RPI of 268 and just one Division I win. But the veteran backcourt of Raffa and Kierre Greenwood set the tone early and the Chants young big men were able to clog the paint and force Clemson to shoot just 32 percent from the floor.

Raffa scored the game's first five points as CCU raced out to a 7-0 lead and a 10-2 advantage. KJ McDaniels hit a three pointer to put Clemson in front 17-14, but the Tigers went ice cold for the remainder of the half. Coastal went on a 13-0 run highlighted by three Raffa layups. Devin Booker ended the drought with a tip in at the buzzer to make it a 27-19 game at the half.

The Tigers would get within four at 35-31 on a Milton Jennings three pointer, but would never get any closer. Michel Enanga hit a three to get the lead to double digits, and the Chanticleers stepped on the gas over the final eight minutes. The Chants made nine three pointers. Warren Gillis had 12 and Kierre Greenwood added 10 points and 7 assists. Clemson was led by Devin Booker's 16 and Jordan Roper with 12.
