Whip Up Your Weekend: Quick and Easy Cheezy Pretzel Bratwurst, (Sydney Glenn/WPDE)

If you're looking for some fair inspired foods, Chef Geoff has got you covered with these easy cheesy pretzel bratwurst bites.


  • 6 smoked brats
  • 3 string cheese strips cut in half
  • 1 can of premade French dough
  • 3 TB baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp table salt
  • 1 cup of water hot
  • 2 oz favorite mustard dip


  • First pre heat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Next cut a slit down the middle of the smoked brats about 3/4 of the way through the brat.
  • Place the half piece of string cheese into the slit.
  • Now portion the French dough into six thin strips.
  • Lightly grease 2 baking sheets.
  • Wrap the strip around a brat over lapping the dough and you wind it up.
  • Place on a baking sheet. Stir the table salt and the baking soda into the hot water and allow to dissolve.
  • Brush the wrapped brat with the soda and salt solution and sprinkle with coarse salt.
  • Repeat with the remaining strips of dough and brats.
  • Bake in a preheated oven until they are golden brown, about 13 to 15 minutes.
