TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WSET) -- U.S. Marshals in Tallahassee arrested a Pennsylvania man who was wanted for 865 counts of child rape.
Garrick Bloom was arrested at the Kearney Center around 11 a.m. February 7, according to WCTV.
Warrants for Bloom's arrest were signed on January 16 in Shippenville, Pennsylvania, but he fled the area before police could find him.
Investigators found Bloom after they received information hinting that he could be in the Tallahassee area.
Bloom is facing 216 counts of child rape, 216 counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, 216 counts of aggravated indecent assault of a child, 216 counts of statutory sexual assault, and endangering the welfare of a child.
Authorities say Bloom is accused of committing these acts on a five year old boy who Bloom "groomed" for several years.
He is currently being held in the Leon County Detention Facility until he is extradited back to Pennsylvania to face his charges.
