Spirit flights canceled or delayed due to Tropical Storm Bill

Spirit customers waiting in line at the Myrtle Beach International Airport Wednesday afternoon.

All but one Spirit Airlines flights going in and out of Myrtle Beach International Airport on Wednesday were either canceled or delayed, and a Spirit Airlines spokesperson, Irisaida Menedez, tells WPDE ABC 15 that it's due to weather.

We received a call from any angry passenger who said there were rumors of a strike. Those rumors have also found their way on Twitter.

Mendez says that is not true, and that the delays and cancellations are because of bad weather in Houston, Detroit and Chicago.

Mendez says the weather is preventing crews from getting to their destinations, including Myrtle Beach.

"We are trying to get our customers to the proper destinations and in situations like this, we try to accommodate our clients on the next available Spirit flight and we appreciate their patience," she said.

Spirit Airlines has more information about these delays and cancelations on its website. You can see it by clicking here.
