AOC claims GOP engages in 'stochastic terrorism,' she has to use 'armored vehicles' for safety
WASHINGTON (TND) — Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., slammed Republicans for engaging in "stochastic terrorism" after Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., was removed from the House Foreign Affairs Committee over what Republicans have described as antisemitic and anti-American comments.
Ocasio-Cortez blamed the move on Republicans' alleged racism and misogyny, and went on CNN Thursday night to air all of her grievances after the House decided along party lines to expel Omar from the committee.
During the interview, Ocasio-Cortez said it was "uncomfortable" working with Republicans who engage in "stochastic terrorism."
The New York congresswoman's comments came after she was asked about a video of her appearing to have a relaxed conversation with Rep. Paul Gosar, R-Ariz, who was one of the targets of Democratic criticism on Thursday amid Omar's ousting.
Republicans argued that Omar could not serve impartially on the House Foreign Affairs Committee following her past antisemitic tweets and a comment that got her into hot water regarding the 9/11 attacks.

But according to Democrats, the GOP's calls for consistency when punishing lawmakers regarding inappropriate comments rang hollow, considering Gosar -- who also holds committee positions -- shared an animated video depicting him killing a giant monster with the face of Ocasio-Cortez superimposed on it.
"I have had to ride -- as has Representative Omar -- consistently had to ride in 20,000 pound armored vehicles -- engaging in some of the most gruesome threats that you can imagine that were incited by Republican members," Ocasio-Cortez told CNN. "This is not just about a tweet, it is about what life looks like and the martialing of hundreds, thousands, if not millions of people into doing something."
