Woman dies after being shot in Darlington nursing home parking lot

22-year-old Shanice Williams died Friday after being shot Thursday in Darlington County,according to Darlington County Coroner Todd Hardee.

Hardee said Shanice Williamsworked at the facility.

The incident happened in the parking lot of Oakhaven Nursing Center on Oak Street and Darlington.

He added Williams worked at the facility. He has ruled the death as a homicide.

Police said the shooter left the scene after the shooting. His name hasn’t been released.

Oakhaven Nursing Center's Director of Communications released the following statement about the incident:

We are deeply saddened by this tragedy. Our team members are our family and yesterday’s events are devastating. On behalf of Wilson Senior Care, we ask that you join us in prayer for the families and friends of the victim. At this time, the investigation is being led by the Darlington Police Department and questions regarding the situation should be forwarded there.

ABC 15 News has learned there has been some new developments in the investigation that will be released later Friday afternoon.
