Water main break reported in Surfside Beach
SURFSIDE BEACH, S.C. (WPDE) —
A water main break was reported in Surfside Beach, according to town officials.
The break is at 2nd Avenue North and Ocean Boulevard.
A town official said the issue is not one with the town, but rather with Grand Strand Water and Sewer.
Neeraj Patel, with Grand Strand Water and Sewer, said the outage is affecting homes and businesses from Surfside Drive to 5th Avenue North and from the ocean up to Dogwood Drive.
He said an underground utility contractor struck the line. Homes and businesses in that area are without water right now.
Patel said it should be fixed in the next two to four hours.
