Troopers: 1 killed after driver runs red light

    The South Carolina Dept. of Public Safety is investigating a fatal crash Friday morning.

    Troopers say a North Myrtle Beach man ran a red light Friday around 9:40 on U.S. 17 at Middle Gate Road, t-boning another vehicle with his Dodge pickup truck.

    The driver of the second vehicle died at the hospital, troopers say. The victim was later identified as 69-year-old Brenda Spires Epps, of Myrtle Beach.

    The crash remains under investigation, and, as of this writing, charges have not been filed.
