MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WPDE) — You can finally check out Myrtle Beach's newest brewery! You just won't be able to buy a beer quite yet.
Tidal Creek Brewhouse in The Market Common has begun opening in phases.
In their first week open they'll be serving breakfast and coffee from The Roasted Bean, which moved into the brewery, from 6:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Next week, they'll begin offering lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
They're still a few weeks away from tapping their kegs, but co-owner Dara Liberatore-Sawczuk believes that's coming soon.
"We're waiting to serve the beer, for one, so that we properly prepare it and have enough on tap for our community," Liberatore-Sawczuk said. "Because I think it's going to be a huge gathering when we do (start selling beer). The other reason is we are waiting on final licensing to come through. Obviously, you know, we've been through a pandemic so there's been a lot of backlog...so we're just waiting for SLED to come and do their final inspection with us."
Liberatore-Sawczuk says after some construction delays and the coronavirus pandemic, she's just thrilled to finally be able to welcome in customers.
"We're just so proud," she said. "We're just so joyful that we actually got to open doors and the feedback has just been tremendous, the community has really been supportive."
Tidal Creek Brewhouse is looking to offer seven craft beers on tap when they begin serving alcohol. Liberatore-Sawczuk is hoping that will be by the end of the month.
