Thousands temporarily without power Tuesday afternoon in Horry County
Horry County, S.C. (WPDE) —
Almost 8,000 Santee Cooper customers were without power Tuesday afternoon in Horry County, according to the company's outage map.
The outage impacted about 7,944 customers and was initially expected to be restored at around 4:45 p.m., according to the site.
A cause has not been given for the outage.
The outage went north along Carolina Forest Boulevard to the area around 79th Avenue North in Myrtle Beach, and east to North Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach.
By 4:10 p.m., only 13 people remained without power in the affected area.
