Horry County, S.C. (WPDE) —
A 55-year-old Conway woman committed suicide at an Horry County gun store Tuesday, according to an Horry County police report.
Around 2:05 p.m., police were called to the 707 Indoor Range off Highway 707 for a person shot in the head, according to the report.
When police arrived, they found the woman lying on the ground.
An employee told the officer that they were in the range as the safety officer when the woman was shooting a rented revolver.
Another employee was also in the range with a customer. When one of the employees was walking out for lunch, they heard a muffled gun shot and then a loud thump, according to the report.
When they looked at where the sound came from, they found the woman on the floor.
The employee then ran out of the range to call 911.
The range was closed off and secured as a crime scene.
