Shooter opens fire outside Dillon County nightclub, 5 grazed by bullets

DILLON COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — Five people are expected to be OK after being grazed by bullets in a shooting on New Year’s Day outside of a nightclub on Highway 9 near the Lake View community of Dillon County, according to Dillon County Sheriff Douglas Pernell.

Pernell said a person opened fire outside the club.

He added he’s thankful no one appears to be seriously hurt at this time.

Pernell said those grazed in the shooting indicated they didn't need to go to the hospital.

The investigation is ongoing.
