No charges filed in fatal pedestrian crash on SC 90

    The South Carolina Highway Patrol responded to a fatal wreck at SC 90 and Old Chesterfield Road, Thursday night, where one pedestrian was killed.

    The wreck is said to have occurred around 7:21 p.m. Thursday night, according to SCHP Cpl. Judd Jones.

    Jones said a 2000 Nissan driven by Crystal Gainey and a 1997 Toyota driven by Juana Hernandez, were both traveling west on SC 90.

    One of the pedestrians was laying in the roadway and was struck by both vehicles. The other pedestrian, 66-year-old Najada Moore, was only struck by Hernandez.

    The pedestrian laying in the roadway was killed and has been identified as 61-year-old Dennis Moore, according to Horry County Deputy Coroner Derris G. Fowler The other pedestrian was not injured.

    Jones says the wreck is still under investigation.

    South Carolina Highway Patrol Cpl. Sonny Collins says no charges are expected to be filed.
