The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) closed SC 22 from SC 905 to SC 90 at 6 p.m. Thursday night.

They say the closure is due to the rising of the Waccamaw River. The picture below was posted at 10:30 a.m. Friday.

US 501 to Conway is open and drivers traveling east of Conway should use that road.

SC 21 will remain open from US 501 to SC 905 to SC 90 to US 17 in order to allow residents access to flooded areas.
