Salvation Army of Horry County offers help to more people in need

The Salvation Army of Horry County is trying to help more people in need.

They just got a grant to give people a place to stay for a night or two in an emergency.

"The people are extremely appreciative because there's really not that many options on this side of the county so they are rally apprentive for having a place to stay," said Jerry Williams, Director of community relations.

So far, the Salvation Army has helped 10 people this year.

They are targeting homeless people or people who just got out of jail.

They hope to get more money soon so they can expand the program.
