Robeson County man charged with dealing heroin in Laurinburg

    The Laurinburg Police Department Gang Unit has charged 32-year-old Julio Ernesto Santana of Maxton in connection with dealing heroin following a three month investigation, according to Laurinburg Police Chief Darwin Williams.

    The unit began receiving narcotic complains, particularly in reference to heroin, through the city. That's when they were able to identify Santana.

    According to Williams, Santana was charged with the following:

    • Conspiracy to Traffic Heroin by Sale (two counts)
    • Conspiracy to Sell Heroin (two counts)
    • Trafficking Heroin by Sale (two counts)
    • Sell Heroin (two counts)
    • PWISD Heroin (four counts)
    • Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
    • Trafficking Heroin by Transportation ( three counts)
    • Conspiracy to Traffic Heroin by Possession (two counts)
    • Conspiracy to Traffic Heroin by Transportation (two counts)
    • Maintaining a Vehicle for a Controlled Substance (four counts)
    • Possession with Intent to Manufacture Heroin (four counts)
    • Maintaining a Dwelling for a Controlled Substance
    • Felony Possession of Heroin (3 counts)
    • Trafficking Heroin by Possession (two counts)

    Santana was taking into custody Thursday and placed in the Scotland County Detention Center under a $5,000,000 secured bond, according to a release. His first appearance in District Court of Scotland County is set for Monday, March 18.
