Road closures & areas to avoid due to flooding from Debby

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — A portion of Wachesaw Road is closed near the intersection with Causey Road, according to Jackie Broach, Georgetown County Public Information Officer.

The closure is due to water across the roadway.

Conway

Police are asking that you avoid the following areas due to flooding and increased rainfall:

• Boundary Street at Main Street
• University Boulevard at Graduate Road
• 701 North between Mill Pond Road and Cultra Road

Lake City

• Thomas Street from Acline Avenue to US Hwy 52 has been closed due to water completely crossing Thomas Street.
• Blanding Street
• Taylor Street at Williamsburg Avenue
• Carlisle Street at J. Paul Truluck
• Winky Drive
• West Main Street at Hwy 52 to Morris Street

Marion

Portions of Pine Street, Spring Street, Godbold Street, Liberty Street and Arch Street are currently blocked or closed.

Officials ask drivers to avoid the area and be mindful of flooded areas.

Horry County

West Homewood Road is currently closed, according to officials.
