Horry County police are asking for help finding a man who tried to rob two Little River businesses on June 10.

According to police reports, the man was essentially turned down when he tried to rob a Waffle House and a Sleep Inn on Highway 17.

The first attempted robbery happened at around 2:30 a.m. at the Sleep Inn.

The witness told officers the man entered with a large knife is his hand and demanded money.

But she said "after she told him that she could not give him any money he stood there looking puzzled and left on foot," according to the report.

Then, at around 3:45 a.m., police say the same man went into the Waffle House and tried to rob all the customers and the business.

Witnesses told police the man apparently did not have a weapon but "had his hand on the small of his back appearing to have one," the report stated.

Witnesses told police that when no one would give him any money he left on foot, but then a older white Buick was seen going on Highway 90 a short time later.

Police are asking anyone with information to call 843-915-TIPS.
