Overstuffing on turkey isn't the only thing that can have you feeling uncomfortable on Thanksgiving.

Kenza Haddock, the clinical director of Oceanic Counseling Group in Murrells Inlet, says she's had clients concerned political debates could squash their Thanksgiving plans.

She has a couple of tips to dodge any family fireworks.

First, don't be afraid, or too proud, to walk away from a conversation if it won't be productive.

Also be mindful of bringing up any potentially divisive issues, because even if you think the person you're talking to will agree, others who don't could overhear.
