No charges will be filed for the shooting death of 36-year-old Kevin Henicks, according to Lt. Mike Brandt with Florence Police Department.

Brandt says, after completing the investigation and consulting with the 12th Judicial Circuit Solicitor's Office, it was determined that the shooter acted in self defense.

The shooting happened in the 1100 block of Sopkin Avenue in North Florence back at the end of June.

A woman in the area said a man was shot four times. She said you could hear gunshots loud and clear.
