Police ask for help finding man after convenience store clerk robbed at gunpoint

Myrtle Beach police are asking for help identifying and locating a man after an armed robbery at a convenience store early Wednesday morning.

Officers were called to the Sea Mart Convenience Store for a reported armed robbery that happened just after 4 a.m., according to a posting on the police department's Facebook page.

The man reportedly showed a handgun and demanded money from the clerk.

Surveillance camera footage from the store captured the man, who had a thin build and dark hair. He was last seen wearing a light blue shirt, a white and grey Under Armour hat, tan pants, checkered shoes and dark sunglasses.

Police say he ran from the store after the robbery, but no direction was listed in the posting.
