Police: 5 arrested, $8,000 seized following drug investigation


Five people have been arrested and $8,000 has been seized following an extensive narcotics investigation by Myrtle Beach Police Department.

According to a news release from MBPD's Captain Joey Crosby, officers began an investigation after receiving information about drug activity near 12th Avenue South and Yaupon Drive.

Officers began an investigation that resulted in five people being arrested.

Search warrants were also served at three homes, Crosby said.

As a result, $8,764 in cash, an unspecified number of cell phones, and unspecified quantities of crack cocaine and marijuana were seized.

On Thursday, Crosby announced that the following individuals have been arrested and charged in connection with the investigation:

  • Ezekial Isaac Dennison, 31, drugs/MDP, narcotic drugs Schedule I, LSD, Schedule II, first offense
  • Barry Dennison, drugs/possession of cocaine, first offense
  • Mario Deshawn Cox, 26, drugs/possession of cocaine, first offense
  • Basilio Morales-Perez, 45, drugs/manufacture, distribution, etc. methamphetamine, first degree
  • Kayla Reed, 34, drugs/manufacture, distribution, etc. of cocaine base, first degree
