One shot on busy street in Lumberton

A 31-year-old man was shot Wednesday afternoon as he waited for a train to pass on West 5th Street in Lumberton, according to Captain Terry Parker with Lumberton police.

Parker said, at this time, the man's condition is believed to be life-threatening.

He's been airlifted to a hospital for treatment.

The Lumberton Police Department and Robeson County District Attorney’s Office are investigating the shooting.

Parker said there is a person of interest believed to be involved in the shooting.
