Myrtle Beach, SC (WPDE) — Myrtle Beach City Council gave the green light for a new brewing company near The Market Common.
The council voted on an ordinance to allow the business to open up in what is zoned for light manufacturing.
The company is called Tidal Creek Brewhouse and will be located adjacent to The Market Common in a vacant warehouse on Knoles Street.
"There will be the possibility now of breweries in the LM zones and the WM zones, which is really good news for Myrtle Beach, to help attract businesses like this to Myrtle Beach," said Michael Grossman with Tidal Creek Brewhouse.
The goal is for the business to open sometime next spring.
The council did not approve the entire ordinance. It wants to take a closer look at allowing similar businesses in designated 'opportunity zones' closer to downtown.
