Myrtle Beach, S.C. (WPDE) — Myrtle Beach Police are investigating a shooting at the Coastal Grand Mall in front of the movie theater.
On June 17, 2017, around 4:30p.m., officers responded to 2000 Coastal Grand Circle, Coastal Grand Mall, in reference to the report of a discharge of a weapon. Officers arrived on scene and learned that one person had been shot in the parking lot. Officers are analyzing evidence in an effort to identify a suspect and motive.
According to police on scene, one person was shot and taken to the hospital, no word on that person's condition.
Part of the parking lot near the theater is blocked off.
About 15 minutes later, officers responded to 2913 S. Ocean Blvd, Crown Reef Motel, in reference to the report of a discharge of a weapon. Officers are on scene and have not located anyone that is shot or injured as a result of this incident. Officers are analyzing evidence in an effort to identify a suspect, and to determine if the two incidents are related.
