The Myrtle Beach Police Department says its newest academy graduates are sure to have "a first day they won't forget."

According to a post on the MBPD Facebook page, a class was sworn in Thursday afternoon -- just hours before Hurricane Florence was expected to pummel the Carolinas.

Another Facebook post said the rookie officers were "ready to get on the road."

Good luck, grads!
