A Myrtle Beach man was arrested on multiple counts of child pornography, according to a news release from the S.C. Attorney General's Office.

Michael Patrick Pellett, 41, of Myrtle Beach, was charged with 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor and failing to register as a sex offender, according to J. Reuben Long Detention Center.

Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force investigators with the Horry County Sheriff’s Office made the arrest and investigators with the Attorney General's Office, also a member of the state's ICAC Task Force, assisted with this investigation.

A tip was received on a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) which led them to Pellett. Investigators state Pellett possessed files of child pornography.

If found guilty, Pellett faces up to ten years imprisonment on each count.

The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General's Office.
