MYR passengers top 2.5M for 2018

Passengers travel to Myrtle Beach International Airport increased more than 10 percent year-over-year.

Kirk Lovell, spokesperson for MYR, says enplanements and deplanements at MYR totaled 2,509,874-- compared to 2,277,965 in 2017.

Arriving passengers in 2018 totaled 1, 254,494-- an increase of 10.5 percent over 2017.

"During 2018, a record number of passengers passed through the Myrtle Beach International Airport,” said Scott Van Moppes, director of airports. “In total our airline partners carried nearly one quarter million more passengers this year, smashing last year’s passenger count record. All-in-all, 2018 was a fantastic year as air carriers serving the Grand Strand introduced new nonstop air service between 13 new markets, aggressively expanding service options into the spring and fall seasons while adding three year-round markets to our route offerings. We thank our airline partners for their continued commitment to MYR and confidence in our destination, Myrtle Beach, SC."
