More than 500 people come out to job fair in the Pee Dee

Officials say more than 500 people came out to a job fair at the SiMT building on the campus of Florence Darlington Technical College Wednesday morning sponsored by the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce.

Several job seekers say they've been without a job for a long time and are hoping to find work before the holiday season.

"I got to come out here and find any kind of job, any hours, any time of the day, I want the job," said Donte Miles of Dillon.

The following employers participated in the job fair: Bankers Life, Blue Cross Blue Shield SC, City Of Florence, Federal Bureau of Prisons, GE Medical systems, Galey & Lord, Harbor Freight Tools, Lowes, Johnson Controls, Na Ya Plastics, Palmetto Staffing Solutions, South Carolina Department of Corrections, South Carolina Department of Public Safety, Sykes, Thompson Industries, Two Hawk, Ina, Walgreens, Perdue, T-Mobile, Rent A Center, Marion County School District, Fed Ex, Life Wireless, Arbor one, Goodwill Industries, Aqua City Bottling, Liberty Tax Service, Monster, GSE Environmental, 2AM Group LLC, and Florence Morning News.
