Two men were arrested by U.S. Marshals and Horry County police in Loris on Monday night, according to a police report.

The Marshals and local police were looking for a wanted person near Railroad Avenue when they pulled up and saw two men, one of whom started to run as soon as he saw officers, according to the report.

As the officers got out of the car, one of the men pulled out a gun and threw it under a car in the driveway, the report states.

That man was then arrested by police, and later identified as Terrance Ray Cox, 26, and arrested for failing to appear in court on an attempted murder charge, according to the report.

The other man who ran from police was arrested a few blocks away and officers reportedly saw him drop a purple handgun while he was running.

That man, identified as Rodney Tyrone Davis, 25, was wanted by Conway police on an attempted murder charge, according to the report.

The gun Davis reportedly dropped had been reported stolen, police say.

Both men are currently in custody at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center.
