McCall Farms could bring 200 more jobs to Florence County
McCall Farms is looking to expand and create 200 more jobs in Florence County according to a Florence County County ordinance.
The project being formed is called Can Can.
The agenda for Florence County council's Thursday meeting shows county council members will discuss a" Fee-In-Lieu Of Tax And Incentive Agreement By And Between Florence County And McCall Farms, Inc. (Formerly Known As Project Can Can)." "
The ordinance shows the company is considering a substantial expansion at its Florence facility that would result in a $50 million dollar investment and the creation of 200 more jobs.
McCall Farms employs about 800 people at this time.
The ordinance shows the project will benefit the public welfare of the county by providing service, employment, recreation or other benefits not otherwise provided locally.
Many people in the community say they're excited about the prospect of more jobs.
They say county council has done a great job in making it possible for existing companies to expand and recruit new industries.
