MULLINS, S.C. (WPDE) — Police are investigating a shooting in Mullins.
Mullins Police Chief Michael Bethea said a man was shot Monday near the tobacco shop on Front Street in Mullins.
Marion County Coroner Jerry Richardson said investigators are treating the incident as a homicide.
“We are in the early stages of the investigation,” said Bethea.
A woman said the victim is her cousin and she’s deeply upset and hurt that he’s been killed.
The police chief says this is his first murder in five years.
Police say a man turned himself in; he hasn't yet been identified.
