Police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead and another injured just after 3:00 a.m. Sunday morning on Vance Street in the city of Laurinburg, according to Laurinburg Police Chief Darwin Williams.
Williams said Rashawn McGinnis,33, died from injuries suffered in the shooting at Scotland Memorial Hospital in Laurinburg.
A 34-year-old man was also shot and has been treated and released from the hospital.
Williams said they have charged Tamar Harris, 39, with murder, attempted murder, misdemeanor injury to personal property, possession of a firearm by a felon and discharging a firearm in city limits.
Williams called the shooting senseless and said they are still investigating to determine a motive.
