Man charged in Myrtle Beach Ross robbery
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. —
Within hours of a strong armed robbery at a department store, Myrtle Beach police had nabbed their suspect.
Around 11 Tuesday night, MBPD officers were called to the Ross Dress for Less in the 1100 block of Seaboard Street, where they learned a masked man entered the store through an unlocked door and attempted to steal a cash box and money bags from the store manager.
The suspect, later identified as Napoleon Donzell Johnson, Jr., managed to make off with one bag of money, fleeing the store in a Chevy Equinox, police say.
The vehicle was located a short time later, and MBPD arrested Johnson at his home within three hours of the robbery.
MBPD says Johnson is a former employee of the Ross. He's charged with strong armed robbery.
