Man arrested following wreck involving stolen car in Laurinburg
Laurinburg, N.C. (WPDE) —
A 25-year-old man is in custody Wednesday evening following a wreck involving a stolen car on McGirt's Bridge Road in Laurinburg, according to Laurinburg Police Chief Darwin Williams.
Williams said the man faces a number of charges, including possession of a stolen vehicle and reckless driving to endanger persons and/or property.
Several people reached out to us asking what happened, saying traffic was backed up and police officers were everywhere.
Williams said the man is being held at the Scotland County Detention Center on a $1.2 million bond.
He’s expected to appear in court Thursday morning for a first appearance hearing.
Williams added more information will be released sometime Thursday, including the man’s name and all of his charges.
