Last August, Florence City Council approved giving a frontage road near the corner of David H. McLeod Boulevard and Dunbarton Drive to Magnolia Mall.

South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) owned the road and gave it to the City of Florence. The city, in turn, deeded the land to Magnolia Mall.

City officials said then the mall will redevelop the land to attract new businesses and would re-engineer the traffic design to make it flow better.
