Teen arrested after girl says he raped her, then his friends asked for 'a turn'
HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) - A 17-year-old from Myrtle Beach is charged with criminal sexual conduct and pointing and presenting a firearm after a Murrells Inlet girl says he raped her and then his friends, who were standing outside the door, asked for a turn and all taunted her with guns, according to a police report.
Joshua Allen Hughes was booked into the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on Tuesday, June 12, according to online booking records.
His arrest comes after, according to a police report, a girl told police she was raped at a home near Myrtle Beach the night of June 6.
The 16-year-old girl says she was picked up by Hughes after she had a conversation on Snapchat with him. The report says Hughes was "accompanied" by two other teen boys who were riding in another car.
The girl went upstairs to a bedroom with Hughes, according to the report, and he started kissing her. She told police that she told him the "contact was unwanted, however the suspect proceeded," the report states.
He is then accused of raping her, according to police.
The girl told police that afterward, three other boys "began to bang and yell outside the door telling suspect #1 to let them in so they could have a turn," the report states.
She told police she was able to get away and went to the garage and, while there, the boys "pointed firearms at her and began to taunt her about the incident until she was able to make contact with a friend and leave."
Hughes has since been released out to home detention.
