Horry County to conduct aerial mosquito spraying next week
Horry County, S.C. (WPDE) —
Horry County officials are set to conduct aerial mosquito spraying next week around the county.
According to a news release, Aug. 14 and 15, crews will spray in the areas of Bucksport, Pee Dee Highway, Pitch Landing, and Highway 378.
If weather prevents the flight, the spraying will take place Aug. 16 and 20.
The spraying will be conducted 30 minutes prior to sunset, weather permitting either day.
Officials say the chemicals used for the spraying are approved by the EPA and pose minimal risk to humans or animals.
Individuals with respiratory illnesses may wish to stay indoors and close windows and doors during spraying.
Homegrown foods should also be washed, scrubbed, and/or peeled before consumption.
