Horry County Government has released an interactive map created by the S.C. Department of Natural Resources that shows where flooding caused by Hurricane Matthew occurred in 2016.

In a statement accompanying the map, officials say flooding from Florence is expected to match, and in many cases exceed the flooding experience during and after Matthew hit.

Residents can type in their address to see how their home was impacted during Matthew, and get an idea of how they will be affected by Florence.

Officials warn the map does not conclusively show where flooding will or will not occur. Residents are advised to, "err on the side of caution and make decisions based on their own assessment of what is best for their safety and well-being."
