(Pixabay via MGN)

Some home improvement stores in our area will be welcoming FEMA mitigation specialists to offer home repair and rebuilding advice to those affected by Hurricane Florence and subsequent flooding.

The specialists will be at a few different stores across Horry County to answer question and provide home improvement tips and information on building structures that are more hazard-resistant, with proven methods that can prevent or reduce damage from future disasters.

FEMA says the information will be geared toward "do-it-yourself homeowners and general contractors." Topics will include flood insurance, elevating utilities and rebuilding flooded homes.
